I was at the Lao market in Escondido recently and I came home with a jackfruit from Mexico.

Peeling and eating jackfruit reminds me of my dad and our first family trip back to Laos nearly 20 years ago, right off the tree and the crazy sticky mess it left our fingers and knives. Worth all the trouble? I think so. It sure beats the canned jackfruit or other tropical fruits they sell in heavy sweet syrup, I’ll pass.
